The Fencing Staff at Red Rock Fencing Center has more combined experience than all of the other fencing clubs in Nevada. Over 150 years of fencing and teaching experience! 100% of the staff is still competing Regionally, Nationally and Internationally so the instruction you get is never out-dated. All staff members work on a volunteer basis.
Frank Van Dyke / Director
Frank Van Dyke is the Director of the Red Rock Fencing Center. Frank is a former certified member of the US Fencing Coaches Association and has over 30 years of fencing and coaching experience and still competes today in all three weapons. He is also a Nationally rated referee in all three weapons. Frank was also the Pacific Coast Section Chair for 13 years.
While representing Letterman Fencing Club in San Francisco and Stanford Fencing Club in Palo Alto, California Frank trained under the legendary fencing masters of Dr. Bill O' Brien of Letterman Fencing Center; Peter Pastel, Russian Olympic coach; Marcos Lucchetti, Argentina Olympic member and a current coach at Princeton University. Frank also studied and trained from 1984-86 under Emil Beck, German National Olympic coach, and Gabriel Nillaba, Polish Olympic coach at Tauberbishofsheim, Germany where the West German Olympic Training Center is located. Frank is a world class "A" rated epee fencer and trainer that is proficient in all three weapons. Frank is a specialist in strip tactics, team tactics and using the mental game to win.

Heifeng Wang-Head Foil Coach
Heifeng Wang is the Head Foil Coach for Red Rock Fencing Center. Heifeng has over 24 years of fencing and coaching experience and still competes today in foil. Heifeng comes from Tianjin, China. She has been a member of the Chinese National team for 11 years and a two-time Olympic member earning the Silver Medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games! She also has worked as the coach of the Tianjin women's foil team. Coach Wang will be taking over the foil classes for all levels and age groups here at Red Rock. She will also be available for private lessons in foil and epee. Coach Wang is a world class "A" rated foil fencer and trainer that is proficient in foil and epee. She also is a specialist in high level training, individual tactics and knowing what it takes to get to the Olympic level.

Beth Juliar-Saber,Epee & Foil Coach
Beth Juliar has over 13 years of fencing in all three weapons and over 5 years coaching experience. Beth is a current competitor in all three weapons and a former member of the National Coaching Association of Canada. Beth started competing in Women's World Cup Saber in 1996 and was a member of "The Original Eight; Canada's first international women saber fencers. (The USFA did not accept women saber until 1999. In 1998 Women's Saber made its first appearance in the World Championships as a demonstration sport. Women Saber was included for the first time in the 2004 Olympics where the USA took the Gold and Bronze. In the 2008 Olympics USA took 1'st, 2'nd and 3'rd.)
Beth trained under Alex Jeffery - Former Head coach of Canada’s National Senior Women's saber team. Also Perry Stevens - Coach of current and bronze Medallist Olga Ovtchinnikova. Coached under Kirk & Kathy Girard - Former coaches athletes for Josh Mcguire of the Canadian
Olympic Team, and long time champion saberist Kyle Girard. Beth works with all beginning & intermediate level saber, epee and foil programs here at the Red Rock Fencing Center.

Kristen Laube Epee Coach
Kris has been fencing since 1984 and coaching since 2000. Kris is still competing today. While representing the Espoo Fencing Center in Espoo Finland, Kris was coached by legendary Fencing Master Kimmo Puranen, who has won the championship of Finland multiple times and was a member of the Finland Olympic team. Kris later became a member of the Jr. & Sr. National Epee Team, and while a member was coached by Finland's National Head Coach. Kristen is a World Class fencer receiving top honors in international competitions. Kris has coached in Helsinki for the prestigious La'Mor Fencing Team where his students received the 2001-2002 Jr. National Epee team gold medal. He provides both individual and group instruction at the Red Rock Fencing Center and is a footwork, handwork and defensive specialist.
